SONrise SONshine rest WHINE @INFOSYS!!!!

Hi All

Rise and Shine!!!! I am Rohan, a humble Infoscion who has joined recently Infosys as an Executive Assistant to Mr. N R Narayana Murthy. What a coincidence!! Even my surname is Murthy and a bigger coincidence that I happen to be his son.

Yes of course, Appa's company does not encourage families of founders to join the organization. Yet I am here - just to clarify, I am just an Executive Assistant to my Appa

My job is just to ensure that Appa is able function efficiently and turn around the company like it was in his hey days. I do not play any active role in the operations or planning of the -organization. Far from it - if I was not sitting and twiddling my thumb at home, I would not have been here in the first place.

I have been trying to make myself useful around since the time I joined in. There has been a lot of media attention and news about me coming aboard Infosys. Some of the tasks that I have been involved over the last couple of days are:-
  1. Arrange the cleaning of Appa's corner room after my own room has been cleaned.
  2. Arrange for the newspapers that Appa reads once he comes to the office.
  3. Arrange for Appa's breakfast and also ensure that his fruits are cut and laid out.
  4. Ensure that his table is neat and clean. I remove all leftover papers and put them in the incinerator each evening. One such evening - I cleared out some papers and did not realize that they were the AADHAAR forms that Nandan uncle had left for Appa and me.
Recently I was in the office in the evening when Appa had gone for a Walk The Talk with Shekhar Gupta to speak about IPL scandal (yes Appa can speak on any topic!!!, he does not have to do any work in anything naa). The phone rang and I picked it up. It was Vemuri uncle on the line. He was sounding frantic about some sales volumes going significantly down and a couple of high value business deals going kaput

I could not understand much but I just asked Vemuri uncle to share some data. He was ranting away on the call that he needed to speak to Appa. I requested him to provide some data for Appa to review but he adamantly wanted to speak to Appa. I remembered Appa's golden words - In God we trust, rest all should bring data. I don't know why he was so frustrated and I recently heard that he left the organization. Good!!! Such people should not stay anyways!!!

I recently heard some gossip in the office cafeteria (yes, it sucks but I have to maintain this non family facade) that I may be nominated to the Infosys board. People were gossiping about the fact that some more heads would move out of the company. Damn these professionals!!! They think they can grow as they please?  I remember when I was a kid, something happened between Appa and Phaneesh Uncle. I was too young to remember this but I guess he was growing too big for his boots.

Nandan Uncle, Kris Uncle, Basabda Uncle all had grandiose plans for Infosys 2.0 - I will make this a reality. We the real INFOscions will now take over!!!!

That is why I took a small liberty of tampering my visiting card.
