Here once I stood: tall and proud and mighty,
A symbol of defiance: a reply for denial of entry,
Braving the Arabian winds for over a century now,
Look at me, what has happened and how!
Bejeweled with art and a décor worth a palace,
Hues of riches and artistic glow on my face,
Many a guest has praised me, many fallen in love with me,
My sheer presence has always been a sight to see,
Currents of the seas are never known,
Bringing to shores with them, jealous foes,
Like a quake, was I ravaged,
Akin to a hatred war being waged,
The pomp and glory of yore,
Is now splattered with blood and gore,
What was once a royal splendor and décor,
Is now a battlefield floor,
My limbs and visage full of blood and soot,
Am still unshaken at my root,
Foreign currents not withstanding,
Enemy intentions not warranting,
I will rise again and soon,
But not to be violated again,
Like the winds, so long I have braved,
To fight this current, I will train,
Acts like these do not befit a being human,
Barbarism is not pardoned in heaven or hell,
Such will be a story that I shall tell,
Here I STAND: tall and proud and mighty!!!
