ADIOS 2013!!!!!!

As the time turns another page, this time last year;

the nation was weeping a collective tear;

the horrific night of Delhi - its memories refuse to die,

shame on those brutes!! Fie Fie!!

As I look back now and pause, the year that went by lies ahead;

around the globe: many an event occurred this year;

Advent Prince George of Cambridge - the UK's future king is here;

Obama: for a second term: walks into the Oval Office, 

while Uncle Sam is grappling a financial crisis,

The world is jolted by the Pope's exit,

Pope Francis takes over the holy mantle from Pope Benedict;

Edward Snowden becomes America's persona non grata,

his disclosures on NSA activities have pushed him to Russia;

Nelson Mandela is no more: Mr. Peace rests in peace,

who's who in the world turned up at the funeral: full of emotions to pour,

Back home, the year was quite eventful; one thing made it literally tearful;

The Mighty Onion made one and all cry, its prices going up sky high;

Once a poor man's staple, now a luxury of few;

"Kaay Nonsense", said Mr. Pawar, "this is nothing new"!!!

Inflation soars through the roof top, Raghuram Rajan is brought in to make it stop;

impossible to do miracles in a day: he whimpers, as the mood against the Government simmers,

making India to the 4th place in this elite race!!!!

Politics gave us its fair share of fun, BJP finally geared up for its 2014 run;

Such elaborate and timed was the announcement of Modi saga,

taken in by shock and defenceless were both Madamji and Baba,

with scam after scam being unearthed this year, anti incumbency was Congress' worst fear;

While AAP enters the political arena with a bang, perhaps a hope of  refreshing change it rang;

Lokpal finally saw the light of day, thanks to another fast by Anna Hazare;

if bills were horses, then corruption would subside,

mid term polls showed the Nation's tevar: NAMO NAMO appears to be the flavour,

IPL adamantly remained a spoilt brat, out of the bag tumbled its cat;

Sreesanth' s antics with his towel, before the courts did he have to grovel,

Srinivasan managed to show his might, came back to power without even a fight,

Gods are eternal; they don't retire; for a change, this one did!!!
