SACHINnings 200 - the cereMONEY begins!!!

Finally, the day has come!!! The little master has decided to hang up his well worn boots. His legacy now firmly in place with Arjun Tendulkar making his debut in the National Team and scoring his maiden century. Papa could not have asked for more!!!

The master has informed BCCI that he will be playing his last test match at the Tendulkar stadium (earlier known as Wankhede stadium). BCCI's elation knew no bounds!!! Sharad Pawar plans to give each spectator a bag of onions as a token from BCCI to mark this grand finale. 

Sachin has "expressed his desire" to play against West Indies. BCCI is now in a quagmire. There is no schedule for India to play against West Indies in the current calendar of commitment. Rajiv Shukla is summoned by Sharad Pawar and an ultimatum is given to get this done. Rajiv flies to Trinidad and strikes a deal with the West Indies government. BCCI purchases the entire team for 3 months. 

BCCI now goes on a war footing on media blitzkrieg.

1. The Tendulkar stadium capacity is quadrupled. Surrounding buildings are bought and demolished to make  way for additional stands. 
2. A consortium of Siemens-L&T along with Hindustan Construction Company has been given the order of creating a non intrusive state of the art ramp/escalator/elevator/flat escalator or whatever it takes to enable Sachin's mother to watch her son play his last match - she has never been to any stadium during Sachin's illustrious career. 
3. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself has sent out invitations to all major international dignitaries. 
4. Among the expected guests are - Barack Obama, Tom Cruise, The Queen of Great Britain, Prince of Wales, Shakira, Bill Gates, Carlos Slim, Pele, Maradona, Justin Timberlake, the Pope and the list goes on. Yes, Rajinikant will be at the event to bless the Little Master sitting in his residence in Chennai. Only Rajini can!!!!
5. Antilla is being spruced up to accommodate these international dignitaries.
6. The match will be sponsored by Mumbai Indians Pvt Limited - a sporting subsidiary enterprise within RIL Group. 
7. Tickets will be sold only by invitation fearing mass riots and violence if sold at ticket counters. Prices are yet to be finalized but rumours abound that each ticket could be worth around INR 1000000 or more.
8. The 5 day extravaganza is expected to generate gross revenues to the tune of US $ 200 bn. More details on that later... 
9. BJP demands a special ordinance be passed to adjourn the parliament for 5 days. Arun Jaitley highlights a provision in the constitution for such an ordinance stating epic national event being underway. Advani will blog about the match. 
10. A grand inaugural event has been planned with all Bollywood superstars coming together for a performance. Rahman is creating a musical gem for this event. 
11. This will be followed by some international stars taking the stage...Shakira perhaps?
