Bow on all your FOURS - BOFORS celebrates SILVER JUBILEE!!!!!

So many things happening almost all at once!!!! SRK being detained on his way to Yale... the report is yet to be made public. The only word that was eavesdropped during the detention was baRA.(e)K. What does that mean and how was the King Khan related to it.... later when FBI permits the publishing of the detention transcript!!!!

The race to RashtraPATI post has also heated up. What a coincidence of events - just as we were resolving the nation's paternity query, we have to resolve the Presidential query. More on that also later....

All these events fade into oblivion in the presence of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of modern  India's first scam!!!! Yes BOFORS turns 25!!!!

In an age where there are more scams than the number of days in a year and the public memory is shorter than Rakhi Sawant's dresses - it speaks a lot about the nostalgia and the public memory about the Mother of all Scams!!!!

This week Sten Lindstrom - the Swedish police officer commemorated the 25 years by revealing that he was actually the Deep Throat - the name that came up during the investigations. On being asked why he held on to this piece of vital news for so many years, he quipped," Way back, I was much younger and had a squeaky voice, now that I have turned older and wiser and richer I have a rough baritone. It kind of made sense to being called the Deep Throat now than two and a half decades ago!!!".

An Indo-Swedish Joint Team has been formed to oversee the proceedings of the celebrations of this momentous occassion.

As the events unfold, I present to you a summary of the events taking across the two countries:-

1. Rajeev Gandhi has been posthumously conferred wih the title of a CHIEF BOFORIAN - a term coined as a mark of respect to all involved or party to (Mani Shankar...ok now??) in this  first major scam to hit India.
2. Other thespians like Win Chadha, Bhatnagar etc have been conferred posthumously with the title of BOFORIAN.
3. The Hinduja brothers have been annointed as HOWITZARS - another term coined for all the champions who were partly involved and exonerated earlier.
4. Mr. Bachchan's name was deliberately removed at the last moment as it was rumoured to have been planted at the last moment. Big B mistook this list as one of the many film awards list where names can be added or removed based on the stage performances done at the event!!!!
5. An Indo-Swedish film production under the Big B Entertainment is making an international movie based on the historical Bofors scam. The movie is titled MAIN FINALLY AZAAD HOON. The movie will star the younger B and Mrs younger B.
6. The movie is budgeted at Rs. 64 crore (how thoughtful of the makers!!!) and will showcase some state of the art gun fights ever seen on movie screens.
7. Ottavio Quattrocchi will be the Chief Guest at the Bofors Conclave to be held in the coming days. When contacted, Mr. Q reminisced about the good old days of India and that he was excited to come back to India. This time bigger and better prospects are beckoning!!!
8. The entire event will be covered simultaneously by Swedish Radio, Indian Express and the Hindu.
9. The RBI is contemplating on releasing a special currency note of Rs. 64 and its multiples of 10s in memory of this eventful scam.
10. There were proposals to replace the traditional rifle model with a Bofors gun model at Amar Jawan. This could not be done for reasons unknown at this stage.

While all these were being planned, Dassault Aviation head honchos were in for some serious introspection and meetings.

That the Rafale would go the Bofors' way is anybody's guess. Dassault Aviation was brainstorming on how they could better the Bofors conclave when the aircrafts would be delivered!!!! They want to ensure that the scale is much grander and bigger than Bofors!!!!!!
They will obviously want their scam breakout news to be on a much grander scale!!!
